Very dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, stable, pretty adhesive. Has a dark roast aroma with some burnt sugar and definite citrus poking through. Nice flavor if slightly thin. Lightly sweet with some roast, light plastic, burnt cocoa, and some burnt citrus rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Burnt roast malt finish, with some wood, scorched earth, cocoa, mild citrus and grass. Easy drinker, lots of flavor. Good stuff.

Flavours were sourness, fruitiness, tartness, wood and bitterness. Aftertaste was sour, woody and bitter. A delicious sour brew with wood notes.
What a nice brew! A really dark brown beer with a nice beige head. Beefstock, roasted malts, dried fruits and some alcohol in the aroma. The flavor is much the same, with more emphasis on the roasted malts, tending towards coffee. Also raisins and prunes, beef-stock and some alcohol. Coffee-like finish with bitterness of the same kind. Medium mouthfeel.
Good drinking, enough complexity to savour each sip. Easily a dessert beer, not for the likings of your average. Very enjoyable Stout!
Now more than ten years ago, a group of friends started a beer tasting club. Every two weeks they came together at one of their homes to drink a good Belgian beer and to discuss beer, women and football. During the years the interest in beer grew. This resulted in following brewing courses in 2007. From that year on, they started “Hobbybrouwerij Het Nest (Home Brewery the Cradle)”. Their first success was a third place at the Open Dutch Championship for home brewers in the “triple” class.
Strong fruity wooden toffee aroma with alcohol and spice notes. Sweetish coke and toast taste with licorice, fruit, and wood notes. Sweetish fruity spicy herbal aftertaste with licorice and earth notes. Excellent balance of wood character, cellar character, freshness, sweetness, and bitterness. Quite impressive..
The third Corne du Bois des Pendus can be called « Wonderful Horn ». Adorned with an ultra powerful black dress and a fleeting beige foam, creamy and warm, the Black Horn is an easy beer to savour.
The nose and mouth reveal soft aromas of remarkable intensity. The flavor is sweet in the first place prior to ramp up on chocolate notes, cafes « old » and butterscotch. Notes of plum, blackberry and dried red fruits appear slowly and sublime tasting. The bitterness is low to discover all the fruity aromas and individuals that can give special malts.
A Black Horn attractive, rich, fine and elegant. A Great Belgian beer, a Big Horn!
Poured deep reddish brown with a frothy tan head. On the nose strong roasted malt aromas develop and support the development of barnyard mixed with bitter chocolate notes and slight coffee traces. Lightly fizzy with a nice slick texture further developping the bitter chocolate and coffee notes providing a full body. There is a very tasty roasted malt flavor with some candi sugar and subtle dry hop bitterness.Finish is smooth, nearly dry and exceeedingly pleasant.
