Cazeau Saison 5°

From Cazeau brewery

« A true seasonal beer, as refreshing as it should be! Taste it in the summer, sitting at a terrace table …  » Originally, season beer was a beer brewed before the summer and intended for summer-season farmhands. It had low alcohol content and a marked bitterness that made it really refreshing.

The brewery wanted to offer a truly seasonal Season with production limited in time.

As Laurent Agache’s parents had created a cottage-type aperitif based on fresh elder tree flowers, greatly appreciated for family festivities, the brewers have tried to use that flower for producing our Season.

The elder flower, combined with the Sterling hop, was wonderful right from the first tests: the bitterness of the hops underlined by the flower brought a new and really nice freshness.

The following year, shortly after the flowering of the elder tree, the Saison Cazeau was launched on the market.

Silly Sour 5.5°

The Silly Sour has been part of our range ever since our brewery was founded by Marcelin Meynsbrughen in 1850. It is brewed with 13% of young beer and 87% of aged beer. The result is a complex beer, fruity and pleasantly acidic. It provides very intense and refreshing sensations.
Pours brown with ruby highlights, thin off white head. The aroma is nutty, slightly rustic yeasty note, hints of tartness. The flavor is cherry, nutty, almost medicinal at times, malty sweetness in the finish. This is a yeast driven beer with the soft acidity clearing my palate after each sip.

Saison Voisin 5°

Voted the ‘Best Belgian Amber of Wallonia’ in 2012.
SAISON VOISIN has been brewed since 1884 according to the original recipe – it’s a truly local beer of the lands. It is characterised by its hoppy taste (40 EBU) and a lovely amber finish. Saison Voisin will throws you back to the harvests of yesteryear.
Pours hazy golden, almost copper coloured with a large white head. Aroma has spices, some saison funk, oranges, malts and some fruitiness. Taste has spices, some malts, bit flowery with some fruitiness and a medium bitter finish. Medium body and over medium carbo. Decent saison.

172- Fantome Saison beer – Fantome Brewery

Available online at http://store.belgianshop.com/season-beers/832-fantome-saison-8-75-cl.html

This is a tremendously delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class all its own. Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.
