To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the revival of the Oud Beersel Brewery, the brewmaster has an idea. He transposed his blending skills on blending “Ale” with “Lambic” to create Bersalis Sourblend.
The Bersalis Sourbland is a beer that will conquer the hearts of people that yet need to fall in love with the traditional Lambic beers.
Bersalis Sourblend is a refreshing sour blonde ale with the malty character of a Belgian blonde ale. And the complex aromas of traditional Lambic.
The lactic fermentation of the Lambic adds a gently sour touch to the beer, making the beer very refreshing while still having the main body of a top fermented beer. The Brettanomyces originating from the Lambic contribute further to the profoundness of this mixed fermented sour ale.
Papegaei is a blond beer with an alcohol volume of 8%. The beer is lightly drinkable and has a rich bouquet of hops. It is brewed with fresh hop flowers, which means that the flowers are dried but not turned into an extract or pellets, so they keep their natural form (and taste!). The mash of this beer contains barley, wheat and oats. It is a top fermented beer with a second fermentation in the bottle. The beer is neither filtered nor pasteurized. This beer is brewed and bottled by Adam Verstraete at the Deca brewery in Woesten. Woesten, next…Westvleteren.
Godefroy Rousse is dark orange colored, cloudy appearance. And medium sized yellow head. The aroma is sweet with notes of spices and berries. The flavor is malty with notes of coriander and yeast leading to a dry end. Good regular amber ale.
