3 Fonteinen Golden Doesjel 6°
3 Fonteinen Golden Doesjel is an assembly of 1,2 and 3 year old lambic. The popular term « doesjel » means doze off and refers to the secondary fermentation in the bottle that did not happen here. Doesjel has no foam and the authentic taste of lambic beer aged in oak barrels has a strong presence.
Clear golden with a white layer of head. Aromas of dust, cheesy funk, light mint and some rubber are what I could make out. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, no carbonation, lightly to moderately astringent. Lack of carbonation softens this considerably. Very enjoyable.

Boon Faro 4°
Darkish red-amber color with a medium, quite firm and tanned, fading head. Tart, sweet and very fruity aroma – quite Flemish Sour –like and reasonably complex. Aroma is sweet fruity and some sourness. Flavor is sweet and fruity, some sourness and a malty finish. Taste is medium sweet with a funky fruitiness and a pleasant touch of toffee/caramel. ….
La Gauloise Christmas 8.1°

Pours a dark brown body with a brilliant red hue. The ligh-brown head is large, creamy and very dense. Very sweet and rich aroma, lots of malts and brown sugar, molasses, rich, dark dried fruits, orange peel, maybe some spices. The flavors are quite on the sweet side with lots of spices here also. Chocolate, candy, nuts, cardamom, malts, apples and lots of dark dried fruits also. Ends with a little alcohol touch that suits it quite nice. A really nice and sweet experience!
Vleteren Bruin 12° Oak Barrel Aged
Pours a very dark brown coloured beer, with a light beige head on top, almost two fingers in size, thick enough, with average retention and light lacing left on the glass. Aroma is dried fruit, honeyed caramel, light grape and port notes, vanilla, dark rum soaked bread, drier barrel elements. Taste is caramel and fruity port, dark toffee, yeast and honey, spicy bitterness, finishing with light chocolate and brown sugar. Smooth, medium heavy body. Pretty nice.
Cantillon Gueuze BELGIUM 5°-37,5cl
The world’s classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The « Champagne of Belgium !!
Slightly hazy orangy golden with small bubbly white head. Smaller head than I was expecting, gone in an instant. Nice visible carbonation. Effervescent and champagne-like pour.. Aroma is sour, apples, white wine, vinegar. Taste is sour, almost no sweetness and bitterness, tart, apples, white wine grapes, dry, crisp. Aftertaste is sour, touch of bitterness, smooth carbonation. Carbonation is strong but not overwhelming. Light sweet grains, unripe peach, lemons, lots of barely ripe fruit tart/bitter mix. Great example of style.
Fluffy pink-white head sits delicately on top of turbulent rose coloured beer, almost champagne like in appearance. Strong smell of cherries. Huge cherry nose, more sour than sweet. Rather dry finish. Very refreshing.
