Hazy golden with a small, lasting and lacy head. Aroma of caramel, yeast. Nice and fruity, what one expects from a belgian ale, plus some funky notes. Taste is yeasty, some peaches, again some of the funkiness, very bitter and especially on the aftertaste. Medium thick body, carbonation is high. Nice dryness on the palate. Overall another surprise, with unexpected bitterness. Great!
A triple beer. The colour is blonde to slightly amber. The beer has a sweet to spicy taste.
A traditional beer with high fermentation level, produced in small quantities, using only natural ingredients: hops, yeast, water, spices and barley malt.
Deep orange golden colour on the body, tall white head, very thick, collapsing slowly. Spots of lacing left around the glass. Aroma is malty, sugar, heavy yeast, light fruits like peaches. Taste follows, lots of sugar and malts with the yeast following, some herbs too, alcohol, metal notes on the finish, still some stone fruits present. Medium thin body, okay carbonation, dry but also sticky on the palate.
Riebedebie, while his wife lay peacefully sleeping collected all the pennies he had been safekeeping.
And outside he bound not making a sound.
With his booty he was crowned to go party all around. In search of spicy flavour and sweet blond savour.
Many hours after the sun has set he returns to bed just before the coffee aromas spread.
But we’ve caught him for you in a bottle of beer so a night out with Riebedebie is near, oh dear!

A new IPA! IPA is the abbreviation for the India Pale Ale beer category: amber-coloured beers with more hops, a higher alcohol content and a bitter flavour. Think you already know what our IPA is going to taste like? Then think again! Because the SUPER 8 IPA is a new, refreshing interpretation of this style of beer.
Hop! In balance
Most IPAs combine a large quantity of hops with a high alcohol content. With its 6% alcohol volume and wonderful citrus and grapefruit notes, the SUPER 8 IPA is even more refined and balanced. This means that you get all the characteristics of the style, without these being taken too far.
What a nice brew! A really dark brown beer with a nice beige head. Beefstock, roasted malts, dried fruits and some alcohol in the aroma. The flavor is much the same, with more emphasis on the roasted malts, tending towards coffee. Also raisins and prunes, beef-stock and some alcohol. Coffee-like finish with bitterness of the same kind. Medium mouthfeel.
Good drinking, enough complexity to savour each sip. Easily a dessert beer, not for the likings of your average. Very enjoyable Stout!
De Bie Vélo’ is a blonde triple. “The beer has a special flavour”, says beer expert Robbie Defraeye. “There is a good sweet-bitter balance. The beer tastes fruity and has a malty aftertaste. The spicy notes of star anise, coriander and sage are the finishing touch. Both men and women will love this beer. It is a very tasty and hearty alcohol in percentage terms, but still has good drinkability. «

Now more than ten years ago, a group of friends started a beer tasting club. Every two weeks they came together at one of their homes to drink a good Belgian beer and to discuss beer, women and football. During the years the interest in beer grew. This resulted in following brewing courses in 2007. From that year on, they started “Hobbybrouwerij Het Nest (Home Brewery the Cradle)”. Their first success was a third place at the Open Dutch Championship for home brewers in the “triple” class.
Strong fruity wooden toffee aroma with alcohol and spice notes. Sweetish coke and toast taste with licorice, fruit, and wood notes. Sweetish fruity spicy herbal aftertaste with licorice and earth notes. Excellent balance of wood character, cellar character, freshness, sweetness, and bitterness. Quite impressive..
