In spring you can enjoy Maneblusser Lente. This light blond beer is brewed with pilsner malt, wheat malt, oats and rye. It was seasoned with classics such as coriander, cumin and curaçao. The result? At the same time refreshing and full of character. Just like spring, it tastes mellow sweet, fruity and deliciously floral. Ideal to enjoy in the spring sun!
A little hazy yellow/golden colored beer. A nice white creamy head. Aroma of hop bitter, and strange for a blond beer, some notes of roasted malts. The taste has these notes also. the taste is malty and fruity with some sweet bitter notes in the back. A very good beer.
Hazy golden with a small, lasting and lacy head. Aroma of caramel, yeast. Nice and fruity, what one expects from a belgian ale, plus some funky notes. Taste is yeasty, some peaches, again some of the funkiness, very bitter and especially on the aftertaste. Medium thick body, carbonation is high. Nice dryness on the palate. Overall another surprise, with unexpected bitterness. Great!
The Silly brewer’s latest creation, the Triple Swaf, is a blonde beer that has re-fermented in the bottle. It is based on a recipe that is 100% original. On tasting this triple you will be struck by its 8% ABV with zesty aromas of coriander, followed by a subtle bitterness that nevertheless makes its presence felt. All this comes with a full-mouthed taste and a lovely lingering finish. An exceptional beer must have an exceptional glass and so the brewery opted for a prestigious glass on a tall stem. Taste this beer and you are won over straight away.
De Poes blond is an unfiltered blond high-fermentation beer with secondary fermentation in the bottle. The beer is fruity with a slight sense of alcohol at the back of the tongue. By using very high-quality bitterness and aroma hops, we ensure that the bitterness is well-balanced. The used herbs provide a pleasant freshness and the reference to flowers and citrus.
Clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity with banana, peach, pear, honey, grain, slight spicy. Taste is medium sweet malty with banana and pears, very soft bitter, slight spicy. Finish is sweet with white bread, peach, pear, a touch of almond and alcohol. Medium bodied, soft to average carbonation.
Papegaei is a blond beer with an alcohol volume of 8%. The beer is lightly drinkable and has a rich bouquet of hops. Papegaei is brewed with fresh hop flowers, which means that the flowers are dried but not turned into an extract or pellets, so they keep their natural form (and taste!). The mash of Papegaei contains barley, wheat and oats. Papegaei is a top fermented beer with a second fermentation in the bottle. The beer is neither filtered nor pasteurized. Papegaei is brewed and bottled by Adam Verstraete at the Deca brewery in Woesten.
They love experimenting at the City Brewery! With multiple, sometimes slightly eccentric test brews as a result! Beers that are normally brewed only once and available for a limited time only. But Lost in Spice, the fourth test brew, just seemed to hit the nail on the head. And because it quickly earned such a loyal following, the brewery decided to make it a permanent fixture alongside the Bolleke, Triple d’Anvers and Wild Jo.
How did it all begin? The Master Brewer, Sven was completely Lost in Spice when instead of hops, he loaded our hop gun with spices. At which point dry hopping made way for “dry spicing” with ginger and cardamom. In addition, orange peel, coriander and lemon were also added to the mash tun, resulting in a refreshing, pithy blond beer of 5.2% alcohol with fruity notes of citrus and a spicy aftertaste. Lost in Spice lets you taste the sun all year round!
Limited Edition. Single Batch. Aged with Acacia shavings
An amber ale with red and coppery tones, this Barley Wine really stands out thanks to its floral notes, with a hint of freshness studded with caramelized, roasted flavours. The selection of special malts brings out a touch of chocolate, combined with a little bit of coconut. The tannin is brought out by macerated acacia shavings that add a hint of vanilla. If kept in the cellar, this exceptional beer will become even smoother and more striking.
A new IPA! IPA is the abbreviation for the India Pale Ale beer category: amber-coloured beers with more hops, a higher alcohol content and a bitter flavour. Think you already know what our IPA is going to taste like? Then think again! Because the SUPER 8 IPA is a new, refreshing interpretation of this style of beer.
Hop! In balance
Most IPAs combine a large quantity of hops with a high alcohol content. With its 6% alcohol volume and wonderful citrus and grapefruit notes, the SUPER 8 IPA is even more refined and balanced. This means that you get all the characteristics of the style, without these being taken too far.
What a nice brew! A really dark brown beer with a nice beige head. Beefstock, roasted malts, dried fruits and some alcohol in the aroma. The flavor is much the same, with more emphasis on the roasted malts, tending towards coffee. Also raisins and prunes, beef-stock and some alcohol. Coffee-like finish with bitterness of the same kind. Medium mouthfeel.
Good drinking, enough complexity to savour each sip. Easily a dessert beer, not for the likings of your average. Very enjoyable Stout
