Boon Oude Geuze BLACK LABEL 7°

Gold Medal World Beer Cup 2016
Aroma has plenty of citrus, slight floral, slight horseblanked, sligtht grass. Pretty darn tasty. The taste tart and funky with some citrus, goose berries, basement grapefruit, stable, apples and some wood. Carbonation is extremely high. Nice indeed! Wow this is really complex.

Bzart Geuze Cuvée 2011 8°

From Our Beersel brewery.

Strictly speaking not an Oude Gueuze, seen the addition of an extra yeast. Pours clear dark golden amber with a white head. Aroma of brett, apples, spice, barnyard and notes of sour grapes.. Body is medium, foamy, soft carbonation. Taste is lemon, champagne, musty, biscuity malt, tangy vinegar, dry, soft bitterness.

3 Fonteinen Golden Doesjel 6°

From Drie Fonteinen brewery.

3 Fonteinen Golden Doesjel is an assembly of 1,2 and 3 year old lambic. The popular term « doesjel » means doze off and refers to the secondary fermentation in the bottle that did not happen here. Doesjel has no foam and the authentic taste of lambic beer aged in oak barrels has a strong presence.
Clear golden with a white layer of head. Aromas of dust, cheesy funk, light mint and some rubber are what I could make out. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, no carbonation, lightly to moderately astringent. Lack of carbonation softens this considerably. Very enjoyable.

171- Lindemans Kriek beer – Lindemans Brewery

Available online at http://store.belgianshop.com/geuze-lambic-fruits/1193-kriek-lindemans-35-14l.html

Fluffy pink-white head sits delicately on top of turbulent rose coloured beer, almost champagne like in appearance. Strong smell of cherries. Huge cherry nose, more sour than sweet. Rather dry finish. Very refreshing.

AWARDS:

Lindemans Kriek, considered one of 5 best beers in the world by Michael Jackson DOUBLE GOLD, BIRA, Fruit Beers, 2011, for Lindemans Kriek.

BELGIUM GRAND AWARD, BIRA, Fruit Beers, 2011, for Lindemans Kriek.

Meaning « sudden death » but these lambics are far from strong. Rather they are sparkly refreshing aperitives. This one is cherry flavoured.
