Authentic abbey ale, brewed for the well-known Averbode abbey since 2013.
Averbode is a blonde abbey beer of 7.5% ABV, dry-hopped and with a second fermentation in the bottle. Clear blond beer, huge rocky head like whipped cream, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma brings out dry crackery malts and lots of grains. Flavour brings out lots of yeast, sweet cereal malts, light dry hops, and champagne yeast. .
Pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a large frothy white head with good retention. The aroma blends dough yeast, bread malts, and a general sweetness. Taste: bitters, spicy, a bit yeasty. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, nice finish. A good representation of the Belgian Ale category. Enjoyable. Excellent summer selection .
Pours golden with a thick white head. Medium body with ditto carbonation. Sweet and spicy with herbs. Hops come to the forefront with a nice snap. Aroma gives away the high ABV of this beer. A very nice rich beer.
The world’s classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The « Champagne of Belgium !!
Slightly hazy orangy golden with small bubbly white head. Smaller head than I was expecting, gone in an instant. Nice visible carbonation. Effervescent and champagne-like pour.. Aroma is sour, apples, white wine, vinegar. Taste is sour, almost no sweetness and bitterness, tart, apples, white wine grapes, dry, crisp. Aftertaste is sour, touch of bitterness, smooth carbonation. Carbonation is strong but not overwhelming. Light sweet grains, unripe peach, lemons, lots of barely ripe fruit tart/bitter mix. Great example of style.
It pours a hazy, brown reddish liquid with high roasted amber-beige head. The aroma reminds of wild dark fruits, a little caramel, a hint of yeast, and nice roasted malt. It tastes accordingly to the aroma, but a little watery. As to the body, here the portwine-image, as well as the comparison to La Trappe dubbel fails: way too thin, nearly watery. Very decently aged beer with very good balance . Pretty solid but still fairly standard, flavourful dubbel. Nice surprise.

The beer pours a slightly hazy light yellow with a large white head, and the aroma blends light malts. The aroma of the beer is largely as would be expected for a BPA with a decent showing of some fruity smells of orange, peach, and banana along with some spice aromas of pepper and clove. Has a fizzy feel. Refreshing Belgian strong ale.
Extra 4 is a classic Belgian “Single” style. Hazy deep hay yellow liquid with a medium white head. Aroma of wheat, perfume, cloves, bread, spices and white pepper. Medium bitterness with flowery sweetness. Yeast, grass, fruit, hops and citrus. Extra 4 will be a unique, tasty and refreshing spring and summer quencher with a lower alcohol content than such other popular St Bernardus products as Abt 12, Tripel and Prior 8.
Its aroma evokes the perfumes of a lovely summer’s day. Its strawberry flavour confirms the nose’s impression, without being over-sweet, and is enhanced by a real feeling of freshness, recalling those tiny green granules that are found around ripened strawberries. Its taste is consistent and spreads very quickly throughout the mouth, finishing on a note that is fruity rather than sweet.
This beer is brewed with the most noble ingredients amongst which wheat, typical for the best Belgian white beers. Very light yellow white coloured beer with almost no carbonation. Herby wheat coriander herby rather heavy aroma.. Yellow pale with a thin white head. Spicy and lemon aroma. Easy to drink and really refreshing, A good beer for summer or for an happy hour.
An amber coloured beer with a small tan coloured head. The aroma is typical Belgian Strong: good yeast and some lemony hoppy notes. Aroma is a bit flowery, firm and sweet. The taste has good strong alcohol and is fairly sweet. Good yeastiness and spicy hoppiness. It is the ideal beer for a feeling of sheer voluptuousness.
